1-Honor is the seed of longevity
Ex. 20:12. Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. They are the generators of our life on earth. Through them we have our life on earth, just as through the boss we have the job, through the spouse we have marriage, etc. When we honor these generators, we will have longevity in what they provide. If they are parents, longevity in life, if spouse longevity in marriage, if boss longevity at work, etc.
2-Honor has the power of initiation.
Eph. 6: 2. Honor your father and your mother (which is the first commandment with promise), Honor began the commandments with promise.
It is interesting to see that honor precedes new seasons, for example: When the person will start his married life, there is a ceremony of honor that is called marriage.
When a person moves from student life to the life of a professional, there is an honor ceremony called graduation. Honor begins new times.
When we need to start a new time in our relationships, in our finances, in our married life, a good recipe is to look for an opportunity to honor.
3-Honor is a seed that you plant and reap.
4-Honor opens doors.
Why should we honor?
1- Because it is a commandment. Rom 13: 7. Pay everyone what is due to them: to whom I pay tribute; to whom imposed, imposed; to whom I respect, respect; to whom honor, honor.
2- For we shall reap excellent fruit. ISm. 2:30 ... I will honor those who honor me.
Who to honor?
To God the Father God is above all worthy of being honored. I Sm. 2:29:30. Rev. 4:11. You are worthy, Lord and our God, to receive glory, honor and power, because all things you have created, yea, because of your will they came into being and were created.
"And all the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell down before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, saying, Amen. Praise, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and strength unto our God, for ever and ever. Amen. "(Rev. 7: 11-12)
How to Honor Him:
With the goods: "Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the firstfruits of all your income; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your presses will overflow with wine. "(Psa 3: 9, 10)
With acts of compassion: "He who oppresses the poor insults his Creator; but honor him who sympathizes with the needy. "(Proverbs 14:31)
Walking in Justice: "The crown of honor is hairless hair, which is obtained in the way of righteousness" (Proverbs 16:31)
With sincere and true words: Mc. 7: 6. And Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Time: I can not honor the Lord without devoting time to Him.
With Goods: Pv. 3: 9. Honor the LORD with your possessions and with the firstfruits of all your income;
To whom else to honor:
To Jesus the Son: "For the Father judgeth no man, but giveth unto the Son all judgment, that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father." He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him "(John 5: 22). and 23)
To whom it is due: "Pay to all that is due to them: to whom I give tribute; to whom imposed, imposed; to whom I respect, respect; to whom honor, honor "(Rom 13: 7) Who else should we honor?
To parents: The first to be honored, on our part, must be our parents. (Ex. 20:12)
To husbands: "20 When a warrant is heard, which the king shall decree in all his kingdom, which is vast, all women shall give honor to their husband, both the most important and the least important." (Ether 1:20) "33 So also let every man in particular love his own wife as himself, and let the wife revere her husband" (Ephesians 5: 33)
To the wives: "Likewise, ye husbands, cohabit with her with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as the weaker vessel; as being your co-heirs of the grace of life; g so that your prayers are not hindered. "(1Pe 3: 7) To those who engage in the work of Christ
"29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and honor always such men as this; 30 because, because of the work of Christ, he came to the gates of death and prepared to lay down his life to make up for your lack of help for me "(Phil 2: 29-30).
To those who are faithful to the authorities (Et 6: 2, 3, 10 and 11):
"2 And it was written that Mordecai had reported the words of Bigthan and Teres, two of the king's eunuchs, of the keeper of the gate, and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. 3 And the king said, What honor and reward did he give to Mordecai? And the king's young men, his servants, said, There was nothing done unto him. 10 And the king said unto Haman, Make haste, and take the robe and the horse, as thou hast said, and do thus unto the Jew Mordecai, which sitteth at the king's gate; and do not let anything fall from what you have said. 11 And Haman took the robe and the horse, and put on Mordecai, and carried him on the horse of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done to the man of whose honor the king is well pleased.
Outstanding leaders:
I Tm. 5:17. The presbyters who govern well are esteemed as worthy of double honor, especially those who work in word and doctrine.
To the bosses: "Let all the servants who are under the yoke esteem their masters to be worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the doctrine be not blasphemed" (1 Tim 6: 1)
To the leaders of the church: Gal. 6: 6. But whosoever is being instructed in the word, let him who instructs him do all things good. 7 Be not deceived: God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Three universal languages of honor:
1st sincere and true words; Mc. 7: 6. And Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, "This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." 2nd Time; I can not honor the Lord without devoting time to Him.
3rd Goods; Pv. 3: 9. Honor the LORD with your possessions and with the firstfruits of all your income;
Malachi 1: 6 The son honors the father, and the servant, to his master. If I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am lord, where is the respect for me? Saith the LORD of hosts unto you, ye priests that despise my name. You say, "What do we despise your name?" 7 You offer my unclean bread on my altar, and you still ask, "What have we profaned you?" In this you think, The table of the LORD is contemptible. 8 When you bring a blind animal to sacrifice, is not that evil? And when you bring the cripple or the sick, is not that evil? Now present it to your governor; will he have pleasure in thee, and will he be unto thee? Saith the LORD of hosts.
