Billy Graham: "A good marriage involves the wife, the husband and God"

A good marriage is not something that just happens. He needs constant care.

Have you ever had a garden? If so, you know that you have to be given constant attention to make it successful. The earth must be prepared, the correct seeds must be planted and fertilized, weeds must be uprooted (without hurting good plants), the need to water the soil repeated, the garden needs to be protected from destructive birds and animals. And eventually your hard work will be rewarded.

Marriage is a bit like that garden. If neglected (if "weeds" are allowed to bloom), if the husband or wife begins to admit it or is insensitive to the needs of the spouse, the marriage will be in trouble. Spending time together, seeking to understand each other's needs, avoiding criticism and slander - these and numerous other acts of kindness will strengthen marriage.

The most important thing any couple can do, however, is to build their marriage in Jesus Christ. I have always said that a good marriage involves three people: the wife, the husband and God. No matter what the future holds, start by turning to Jesus Christ and asking Him to come into your life. God loves you, and your life will never be the same with Christ at its center. The Bible says, "God is love.

Everyone who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16).
